  11. I have recently bought a Global Village Platinum 28k8 fax/modem and get
  12. the dreaded 'no dial tone' message (even if I use a simple terminal
  13. program and type atdt,xxxxxxx).

  15. I use the fax/modem on a line which has 2 phone numbers, which may
  16. affect the dial tone. On the other hand, I have seen some posts in this
  17. newsgroup of people complaining the australian (e.g.) dial tone was not
  18. recognized by the Global Village fax/modem.
  19.  
  20. What can I do to see what the problem is, and is there a work-around?
